Absolutely Marbellous – Why this trend is set in stone

Once a staple material for exclusive projects in Ancient Greece and famously used to construct some of the world’s most iconic buildings such as the Taj Mahal, this beautiful stone has been around for centuries and has gained huge popularity in recent years as a go to choice for interior designers. As a classical tool to use, the look has been repurposed for the modern home to make it a luxury interior must-have that is totally accessible and extremely versatile.

Sat in joint-first position alongside our primary material of mango wood, we are huge fans of marble here at Atkin and Thyme and have curated the following three looks on how to achieve this “marble”ous display in your own home!

Living room

Castello Marble Coffee Table (£399); Stellar White Marble Side Table (£159)

For an impact that cannot be missed, opt for a marble coffee table that is the centre of your living space. Our Castello Marble Coffee Table is a glamorous investment piece that makes a loud design statement, softened with an iron brass base to add some warmth to this cool look. If this seems too much, opt for the more understated aesthetic with our White Marble Side Table; featuring a solid marble top with a brass geometric base that creates visual intrigue for a true showstopper. Continue the theme with smaller accessories and furnishings such as candles, plant pots and wall hangings for the full marble ensemble.

Marble bedding set from Articture; Deco Marble Bedside Table (£199)

Marble is the perfect material to utilise in the bedroom; gently embellishing furniture and accessories for that subtle yet opulent touch. Our Deco Marble Bedside Table embodies all of the elegance you could wish for in a luxury bedroom scheme using its rich combination of natural materials with warm rosewood in contrast with a solid white marble top and delicate brass inlay; matching chest of drawers are also available to purchase for a fully coordinated look. Finish with a fabulous marble-effect bedding set and decorative cushions for an effortlessly glam bedroom.

Kitchen/Dining room

Chevron Dining Table - Medium (£549); Marbled Tableware from Homevert; Gatsby Marble Bar Trolley (£299)

Aside from splashing out on a statement marble worktop and splashback, marble can be brought into the kitchen and dining area with simple finishes such as kitchenware and lighting. A trend that has dominated interior buys over the last couple of years is the revival of the bar trolley – our Gatsby Bar Trolley with its Art Deco inspired frame, has a solid marble top which makes it ideal for serving out your favourite tipple or two whilst entertaining friends and family. As for the dining room, a solid marble table may be too big of an ask for the average home, but a very similar look can be achieved through the use of bleached mango wood. Our Chevron Dining Table gives the look of a marble appearance with its whitewashed design without the expensive price tag, and comes in two sizes with matching benches available so it can grow with you to meet family demands.

Whichever marble look you choose, you can’t go far wrong!
