Trends we love this Autumn

The change in season always heralds new decor trends and there are plenty of ways to give your home a fresh look as Autumn settles in. Here are our predictions for the styles that will reign supreme this season…

Rich and natural

Cooler temperatures always call for rich colours, thick fabrics and natural elements. Autumn is a time of abundance and what better way to bring the outside in than with shades and materials that reflect nature’s harvest. Berry reds, russet oranges and deep emeralds in luxurious fabrics, such as wool and velvet, will sing in your home this season. Pair them with natural-looking materials such as wood, earthenware, stone and wicker and the look is cosy and inviting.

New Nordic

Scandinavian interiors have been traditionally associated with monochromatic schemes, but the new Nordic trend is seeing the introduction of more vibrant and complex colours. One key look in this fresh movement towards characterful shades is a blend of strong but subtle pastels. Paired with clean-lined, contemporary silhouettes, these richer colours create a surprisingly modern effect. Better still, they are ideal for this time of year as the hues give a softer, warmer edge to a modern scheme.

Globally-inspired design

This season turn to folksy patterns, earthy pigments and rugged textures to bring this eclectic, handcrafted style to life. A more luxurious version has been popular in the States for some time and now, on home shores, everything from dinner plates to soft furnishings are getting in on the act with a more rustic take on the trend. It’s a look that is positively bursting with personality and a great excuse for a foreign shopping trip before the month’s out.

Luxe statements

Luxurious furnishings have long been favoured through the colder months… and for good reason.

As we leave summer behind and the nights draw in, bringing light into our homes becomes a priority and luxe metallic finishes are ideal for doing just that. Not only do shiny reflective surfaces add an element of glamour to our decor at a time of year when we’re in need of a pick-me-up, but they bounce light around the room creating a gorgeous glow.
